Timothy J. Stapleton provides strategic advice to businesses, organizations, and associations across a broad array of complex legislative, regulatory, and economic development issues. Tim works with clients to create customized advocacy solutions to advance their business interests and is skilled at identifying various government funding opportunities. With more than 25 years of experience working at the intersection of public policy, politics, and business in Florida, he has secured millions in funding for organizations involved in health and human services, economic development, and the arts.

For more than two decades, he spearheaded the government affairs and political operations of the Florida Medical Association (FMA), one of the largest state medical organizations in the country. Under his leadership, the FMA achieved record growth through strategic partnerships, increased membership and innovative programs that generated new streams of revenue. In 2015, Tim was recognized in Influence Magazine’s inaugural list of the “100 Most Influential People in Florida Politics.” Following the 2018 election, he served on the health care transition team for Governor Ron DeSantis.

Prior to his time in Florida, Tim worked for the American Medical Association and the Medical Society of the State of New York. His political experience includes serving on the staff of two statewide political campaigns in Illinois. His public service includes working as a legislative liaison in the Office of Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan.

When he is not working, Tim spends time volunteering for organizations dedicated to helping people with special needs. He has served on the Board of Independence Landing in Tallahassee, a nonprofit corporation with a mission to build an affordable, planned residential community for adults with varying intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Learning Academy, a tuition-free, nonprofit, Palm Beach County charter school serving students with autism spectrum disorder.
